DAS VILLAIN Although this albums is way more commercial than their Dischord lore-and a major departure from For Your Own Special Sweetheart-Jawbox for a good album. They maintained some of their post-hardcore roots which made them a great band in the first place, but expands into the world of-I dare say-poppier territory. This album is slightly catchy, pandering to the mainstreaming of alternative/indie music, but never forgetting where they came from, either. Favorite track: Livid.

Not long after that, the band began to tour and record, releasing its first single, “Tools & Chrome”, in 1990 as a split between Desoto and Dischord.
